The Enforcement Directorate (ED) initiated raids across multiple locations in Punjab, targeting the former state forest minister and Congress leader Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, along with certain contractors, in connection with an alleged forest scam linked to money laundering, according to official sources on Thursday. Approximately 14 locations in the state are currently under scrutiny by the agency, acting under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The raids encompass the residences of Dharamsot, aged 63, a forest contractor, and others associated with the case. Earlier this year, the five-time MLA had been apprehended by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau in a case related to the alleged possession of disproportionate assets.
