Kangpokpi: A joint team of the Assam Rifles and Manipur police recovered illegal weapons and other war-like stores from Loiching range in Kangpokpi in Manipur. The team recovered items including one AK 56 rifle with two magazines, a single shot barrel rifle, a Chinese grenade, a round of Mortar, 100 rounds of AK 56 and seven fired cases of single shot barrel rifle.
‘Over the past few months, Assam Rifles has been actively engaged in intelligence-based operations, focused on identifying and neutralising illegal weapon smuggling networks. Through diligent surveillance and coordinated efforts, the force has been able to disrupt these networks and confiscate a significant cache of weapons. Assam Rifles, with its unwavering commitment to uphold law and order, stands resolute in its determination to dismantle such networks and ensure the safety and well-being of the local populace,’ a statement from Assam Rifles read.
