10 BJP MPs, Including 2 Ministers, Resign from Lok Sabha

Ten members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Lok Sabha, including two union ministers, who emerged victorious in the assembly elections, tendered their resignations on Wednesday, as per sources familiar with the situation. The MPs, having secured electoral victories, formally resigned from their parliamentary positions after meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president JP Nadda. The party president accompanied them to the speaker’s office, where nine MPs submitted their resignations, while the tenth MP, Kirori Lal Meena, submitted his resignation to the Rajya Sabha chairman.

A BJP leader indicated that a total of 12 MPs from Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh had succeeded in the state elections. The list of resigning MPs includes prominent figures such as Narendra Singh Tomar, Prahlad Patel, Rakesh Singh, Uday Pratap Singh, and Riti Pathak from Madhya Pradesh; Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Diya Kumari, and Kirori Lal Meena (Rajya Sabha MP) from Rajasthan; and Arun Sao and Gomti Sai from Chhattisgarh.

Notably, Lok Sabha MP Baba Balaknath from Rajasthan and Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Renuka Singh, who secured victory in Chhattisgarh, are yet to submit their resignations.
