Upcoming streaming platform to offer free access to environmental films

A novel streaming service, tve StoryHub, has been unveiled at the ongoing COP28 summit, offering complimentary access to a diverse range of films focused on environmental subjects, including one addressing the Bhopal gas tragedy. Established by tve (Television for the Environment), a specialist in environmental filmmaking, the platform aims to provide global access to tve’s comprehensive film archives spanning 39 years. Encompassing climate change, biodiversity loss, development, human rights, pollution, and women’s role in sustainability, the themes cover a broad spectrum.

Key features of tve StoryHub include immersive documentaries, innovative television series, and concise digital videos encapsulating pivotal narratives. Notably, it highlights a documentary on the Bhopal tragedy, which remains unresolved even after 40 years. Launched in collaboration with sports streaming technology provider Reeble Technology, the platform officially debuted on Tuesday. tve President Surina Narula expressed excitement about making their film library available to a wider audience, believing in the films’ potential to inspire and educate on the climate crisis.

Reeble Technology founder Srikanth Tanguturi emphasized the positive impact their technology could have on widening tve’s audience and contributing to the climate debate. Adil Matin, President of WeTel Center for Sustainability, noted the platform’s significance as a valuable resource for those seeking to deepen their understanding of climate change and take meaningful action. The COO of tve announced plans to gradually release over 9,000 films from their extensive library to audiences worldwide over the next few years.
