The Kerala government announced on Friday the temporary suspension of the ongoing Nava Kerala Sadas, a flagship public outreach program, which will be canceled on December 9 and is set to resume on Sunday afternoon. This decision comes in the wake of the unfortunate demise of CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran at a private hospital in Kochi. The funeral for this influential leader of the Communist Party of India is scheduled for Sunday afternoon. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, along with his cabinet colleagues, paid their respects to the departed leader, acknowledging his crucial role as a major ally within the ruling Left front.
Government authorities clarified that the Nava Kerala Sadas, a vital platform for public engagement, would recommence at 2 pm on Sunday, starting from Perumbavoor. This pause reflects the state’s collective mourning for the significant political figure and aligns with the government’s commitment to resuming the outreach program to address the concerns of the public.
