The application aims to guide Investigation Officers (IOs), especially in the initial stages of a probe, emphasizing the crucial aspects of crime scene preservation and protection of evidence from tampering. The user-friendly app will provide step-by-step guidance for IOs, and the collected information will be stored and linked with the Inter-Operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS), ensuring data integrity.
ICJS, a national platform for integrating IT systems across various pillars of the criminal justice system, will enable secure storage and monitoring of data by senior officials. While enhancing scientific forensic analysis of criminal activities, the application aligns with the broader goals of UPSIFS in training forensic experts. The institute, affiliated with the National Forensic Science University, offers professional courses in forensic sciences, aiming to groom future experts in crime scene management, crime lab analysis, and the translation of forensic opinions into credible legal evidence.
