New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to moderate rainfall in several states. According to the IMD, a cyclonic circulation over the Southeast Arabian Sea and adjoining Maldives area in lower and middle tropospheric levels is likely to cause light to moderate rainfall at some to many places, accompanied by isolated thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal in the upcoming days.
The IMD has also warned of isolated heavy rainfall over Kerala, Mahe, and Tamil Nadu, starting today. The IMD has predicted light to moderate rain at few places with thunderstorm and lightning at one or two places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal area till 15 December.

The IMD has also issued a hailstorm warning for isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim starting December 12. The hailstorm may cause damage to crops and property in the affected areas. Apart from this, a fog alert has also been issued in over five states on December 10 and 11. As per an IMD statement, dense fog during the morning hours is very likely in isolated pockets over north Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam and Meghalaya on December 10 and 11.
