Actress Kate Micucci is in good spirits and on the path to recovery after undergoing surgery for lung cancer. The star of shows like Raising Hope and The Big Bang Theory shared a video with her fans over the weekend, displaying resilience and humor as she navigates the post-surgery experience.
Wearing a hospital gown, Kate addressed her followers with a touch of humor, referring to her TikTok post as a “SickTok.” She playfully mentioned her ongoing conversation, questioning, “Why am I still talking? Because I’m on drugs.” The actress recently had surgery to remove the cancer, and despite the serious nature of the procedure, she maintained a light-hearted approach.
In the video, Kate takes a stroll around the hospital hallways, showcasing her recovery progress. She also shared a glimpse of her hospital meal, featuring Frosted Flakes. Trying to alleviate concerns, she assured her fans that she would be okay soon. Kate candidly revealed, “I’m in the hospital, but it’s because I had lung cancer surgery yesterday. They caught it really early. It’s pretty weird because I’ve never smoked a cigarette in my life. So, you know, it was a surprise, but also, I guess it happens.”
The comedian-actress characterized the surgical experience as “a little bit of a trip” and acknowledged that she might be moving slowly for a few weeks. However, she expressed optimism about returning to her usual activities following her recovery. Kate shared the great news that the cancer was detected early, and the medical team successfully removed it. She concluded by saying, “I’m all good. Can’t wait to be painting more.”
