With the final stages of government formation in the recently won states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh nearing completion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is poised to kick off the ‘Mission 2024’ campaign from his Lok Sabha constituency, Varanasi. His visit to the holy city is scheduled for December 17 and 18. The Prime Minister, expected to arrive in Kashi on Sunday afternoon, will stay overnight in his parliamentary constituency and return to Delhi on Monday. During his visit, Modi is anticipated to inaugurate a range of development projects totaling Rs 1,000 crore.
According to Varanasi’s divisional commissioner, Kaushal Raj Sharma, the PM will participate in various programs and launch development projects. The itinerary includes witnessing Ganga Aarti, offering prayers to Maa Ganga at Namo Ghat, and participating in Kashi-Tamil Sangamam Phase-II. On the first day, Modi is likely to inaugurate the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra Exhibition and attend a cultural program at Namo Ghat as part of Kashi-Tamil Sangamam Phase-II, commencing on December 17. The month-long Kashi-Tamil Sangamam, initiated last year, is an annual event organized by the Union Ministry of Education in collaboration with various departments and the Uttar Pradesh government. Aimed at strengthening the cultural bonds between Kashi and Tamil Nadu, it celebrates the historical and civilizational connections between India’s North and South regions, fostering a deeper understanding of shared heritage and people-to-people connections.
