Mumbai: Indian equity benchmark indices ended Thursday’s trading session in positive territory. At close, BSE Sensex was up 929.60 points or 1.34% at 70,514.20. NSE Nifty ended at21,182.70, up 256.40 points or 1.23%.
The market capitalisation of BSE listed companies rose to record high of Rs 355 lakh crore. The market capitalisation of all listed companies ended at record high as well. Around 19 Nifty stocks hit 52-week high and multi-year highs.

The market breadth was in favour of gainers as around 1,851 shares advanced, 1,363 shares declined, and 86 shares remained unchanged. Top gainers included Tech Mahindra, LTI Mindtree, Godrej Properties,DLF, Wipro, Infosys, and HCL Technologies. Top losers included Power Grid Corporation of India, HDFC Life Insurance Company, Nestle India, Cipla, and JSW Steel.
The broader indices settled higher with the gains led by Midcap stocks. Bank Nifty index climbed 640.5 points or 1.36% to settle at 47,732.30. Realty and IT stocks led the gains and settled with gains of over 3% each. Financial Services, Private Bank, Oil & Gas stocks also rallied by over 1% each, while Media, Healthcare, and Consumer durables stocks settled lower. The volatility index (India Vix) ended up 2.11%.
