Allahabad High Court Permits Survey of Mathura Shahi Idgah

In a significant development regarding the Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Idgah dispute in Mathura, the Allahabad High Court granted permission on Thursday for a court-monitored survey of the mosque, following a petition. Justice Mayank Kumar Jain, addressing the application on behalf of deity Bhagwan Shri Krishna Virajman and seven other Hindu plaintiffs, stated that the court would hear counsel opinions on the commission’s modalities and composition on December 18.

The court specified that the survey should be overseen by a three-member commission of advocates, emphasizing that the commission’s findings would not impact the case’s merits. It stressed the necessity to uphold the religious place’s sanctity during the survey, ensuring no harm or injury to the structure. The court underlined the commission’s responsibility to provide a fair and impartial report based on the property’s actual status. Additionally, the commission may disclose any discovered signs at the property as indicated by the plaintiffs.
