In preparation for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, BJP MLAs in Maharashtra convened on Thursday and were given a 55-day timeline to encourage 50 lakh residents to download the Namo app and actively participate as members. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis hosted the meeting at his Nagpur residence, urging MLAs to commence preparations for the upcoming elections.
Chandrashekhar Bawankule, the Maharashtra BJP president, revealed that with approximately 55 days remaining until the election code of conduct for the 2024 Lok Sabha comes into effect, BJP MLAs need to actively engage with the public. Each BJP MLA is tasked with reaching out to 30,000 voters in their respective constituencies, encouraging them to download the Namo app, actively participate, read government programs, and join Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s election campaign.
The overall objective is to achieve 50 lakh Namo app downloads across Maharashtra, targeting common citizens rather than just party workers. The deadline for this mission is set for January 25, 2024. Additionally, BJP MLAs and Lok Sabha MPs have been instructed to connect with the youth by organizing various sports competitions under the Namo Sports banner, with the aim of completing all competitions by January 25. Mumbai BJP president Ashishar Shelar emphasized that the Namo app download would enable citizens to receive authentic information about the central government’s programs and activities, fostering direct connectivity with PM Narendra Modi for nation-building participation.
