As the highly anticipated film “Dunki” prepares for its release on December 21, it has received a U/A certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) after undergoing specific modifications. Bollywood Hungama reported that changes were made to certain dialogues and scenes, including modifying a word to ‘immigrants’ at the start of the film. Scenes of Shah Rukh Khan’s character, Hardy, riding a horse in uniform during his wedding were also suitably modified before the interval. In an important scene, a statutory warning stating, “Suicide is not a solution to any problems,” was added.
Additionally, the CBFC requested the inclusion of anti-smoking health spots at the beginning of the movie and before the second half. To support factual assertions in the film, the “Dunki” team submitted documentary evidence, resulting in the movie receiving its U/A certification on December 15. The censor certificate indicates a film duration of 161.24 minutes.
“Dunki” features an ensemble cast, including Shah Rukh Khan, Boman Irani, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Vikram Kochhar, and Anil Grover. Presented by JIO Studios, Red Chillies Entertainment, and Rajkumar Hirani Films, the production is directed by Rajkumar Hirani and Gauri Khan. Penned by Abhijat Joshi, Rajkumar Hirani, and Kanika Dhillon, “Dunki” explores the journey of four friends aspiring to reach foreign shores, capturing their challenges, dreams, and transformative voyage to reshape their destinies. Inspired by real-life experiences, the film weaves together humor and pathos to depict intertwined tales of companionship and aspirations.
