Banana Wine Recipe

Ingredients:
– 2 kg ripe bananas
– 1 kg sugar
– 4 liters water
– 1 teaspoon citric acid
– 1 teaspoon yeast nutrient
– 1 packet wine yeast
– 1 cinnamon stick (optional)
– 3-4 cloves (optional)

Instructions:

1. Peel and mash the ripe bananas in a large, clean container.

2. Boil the water and pour it over the mashed bananas. Stir well and let it cool to room temperature.

3. Add sugar to the banana mixture and stir until the sugar dissolves completely.

4. Add citric acid, yeast nutrient, and crushed yeast to the mixture. Stir well.

5. If desired, add a cinnamon stick and cloves to enhance the flavor. You can adjust the quantity based on your preference.

6. Cover the container with a clean cloth and let it ferment for about 7 days. Stir the mixture once daily.

7. After 7 days, strain the liquid into another container to remove banana residues.

8. Transfer the liquid to a fermentation vessel and fit it with an airlock.

9. Allow the mixture to ferment for about 4-6 weeks, or until the bubbling stops.

10. Rack the wine into another clean container, leaving the sediment behind.

11. Let it age for an additional 2-3 months.

12. Once the banana wine is clear and has mellowed, bottle it.

13. Seal the bottles and store them in a cool, dark place for several months before consuming.

Note: It’s essential to ensure that all utensils and containers used are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized to prevent contamination.
