Palestinian journalist Haneen Al Qashtan and her family were killed in an Israeli airstrike on their house in the Al Nuseirat refugee camp in the Gaza Strip, as reported by Gaza’s Media Office on Sunday. According to the statement, this incident brings the number of journalists killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7 to 95. In a prior statement, the media office accused Israel of deliberately targeting journalists in Gaza to suppress the Palestinian narrative, obscure the truth, and prevent news and information from reaching regional and international public opinion. Israel initiated air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip in response to a cross-border incursion by the Palestinian group Hamas on October 7. Since then, Gaza’s health authorities report that at least 18,800 Palestinians have been killed, predominantly women and children, with 51,000 injured. The Israeli death toll from the Hamas attack is reported at 1,200, while over 130 hostages remain held by the Palestinian group in Gaza, according to official figures.
