Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the unique emotional and creative connection between his parliamentary constituency, Kashi, and Tamil Nadu, stating that events like Kashi-Tamil Sangamam further solidify the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat.’ During the inauguration of the second edition of Kashi-Tamil Sangamam in Varanasi, the Prime Minister underscored the enduring ties between these two ancient centers of India’s cultural heritage, noting that both Kashi and Tamil Nadu share not only emotional but also creative bonds as significant abodes of Lord Shiva.
PM Modi remarked on the distinctiveness of ‘Bharat,’ where spiritual ties transcend mere political definitions, and diverse spiritual faiths contribute to the country’s unity. He highlighted the role of saints like Adi Shankaracharya and Ramanujam in fostering a sense of nationalism by traversing the nation. Additionally, the Prime Minister flagged off the Kanyakumari–Varanasi Tamil Sangamam train and launched multi-language and braille translations of Thirukkural, Manimekalai, and other classic Tamil literature. The Kashi Tamil Sangamam, scheduled from December 17 to 31, is set to host 1,400 dignitaries from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
