All six individuals arrested in connection with the Parliament security breach case were brought face to face for corroboration of the incident sequence by the Special Cell on Wednesday, according to police sources.
Currently held in five different units of the Delhi Police Special Cell, the individuals have undergone multiple interrogations by security agencies. On Wednesday, they were taken to the Counter Intelligence (CI) office of the Special Cell and confronted with each other. Two of them, Neelam and Manoranjan, were already located at the CI office in New Friends Colony, while the remaining four were brought from different ranges.
The seven-day police custody of four of the accused, namely Sagar Sharma, Manoranjan D, Neelam, and Amol Shide, is set to end on Thursday. An investigating officer mentioned that they might seek further custody for these individuals as there are still several angles to scrutinize. The data from the mobile phones, allegedly destroyed by two other accused, Lalit Jha and Mahesh Kumawat, is yet to be accessed. Additionally, the investigators are supposed to visit various locations with the accused, which is pending, the officer stated.
In a significant security breach on the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament terror attack, two individuals jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber, released gas, and shouted slogans before being overpowered. Two others sprayed colored gas outside Parliament premises, while two more walked into a police station voluntarily as the probe intensified.
