Kerala’s Minnu Mani Makes it to T20 India Squad for Australia Series

Minnu Mani, the prominent woman cricketer from Kerala, has earned a spot in the T20 India squad for the upcoming three-match series against Australia. Recently leading India ‘A’ against England ‘A’, Minnu Mani’s inclusion was announced by the Neetu David-led selection committee, which opted to retain the same group of players that faced England in a recent series. The T20 series is scheduled to take place at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on January 5, 7, and 9. Additionally, Shreyanka Patil, Mannat Kashyap, Saika Ishaque, and Titas Sadhu have received their maiden call-ups to India’s ODI squad.

Shreyanka Patil, an off-spin all-rounder, made her T20I debut in the series against England, showcasing an impressive performance with five wickets, including a match-winning 3-19 in the third game. Left-arm spinner Saika Ishaque also made a significant impact in the same series, securing five wickets and delivering a decisive spell of 3-22 in the last game. The upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia, scheduled to be played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on December 28, 30, and January 2, 2024, holds significant importance for India as they prepare for the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup, where they will serve as the host nation.
