“Russian Governors to Attend Vibrant Gujarat Summit as Partner Country”
Eight governors from Russia are set to participate in the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, scheduled for January 10-12 in Gandhinagar. Russia is among the 25 partner countries for the summit, and despite the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, India and Russia continue to strengthen their strategic partnership. The governors will arrive in Delhi on January 8 before heading to Gandhinagar for the summit. According to Rushikesh Patel, the Minister of Health and Family Welfare of Gujarat, the summit will provide a platform for exploring investment opportunities across various sectors, with the state aiming to attract investments totaling Rs 3.37 lakh crore.
Bilateral relations between India and Russia have been on the rise, with robust trade reaching $49.36 billion in 2022-23 and a 161.22% increase in the first six months of the current fiscal year. The two nations have set a bilateral investment target of $50 billion by 2025. Russian Ambassador Denis Alipov had previously met Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on December 4 in Gandhinagar to discuss further strengthening cooperation between Russia and the state. Despite geopolitical challenges, the partnership between India and Russia remains resilient, fostering economic collaboration and mutual interests.
