Recipe for a sweet apple pie

Here’s a basic recipe for a sweet apple pie:

Ingredients:
– 6 to 7 cups of peeled and sliced apples (such as Granny Smith or a mix of varieties)
– 3/4 to 1 cup granulated sugar (adjust based on the sweetness of the apples)
– 1-2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
– 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
– 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
– 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
– 1 package refrigerated pie crusts or homemade pie crusts

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, flour, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Toss the ingredients together until the apples are evenly coated.

3. Roll out one pie crust and place it in a pie dish. Pour the apple mixture into the crust.

4. Roll out the second pie crust and place it over the apples. Trim and crimp the edges to seal the pie.

5. Optionally, you can cut a few slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape during baking.

6. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes or until the crust is golden brown, and the filling is bubbly.

7. Allow the pie to cool before serving.
