Bobbie Jean Carter, the sister of singers Nick and Aaron Carter, passed away at the age of 41. Authorities found her “unresponsive” at her Florida home on December 23, prompting her immediate transportation to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, where she was declared dead at 8:02 am.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office initiated a death investigation, revealing that Carter, on probation for cocaine possession, had not used narcotics since her release from prison. No narcotics or paraphernalia were discovered in her room or bathroom, and there were no signs of foul play. Authorities stayed with Carter’s 8-year-old daughter until her next of kin arrived from Orlando.
In June of the same year, Carter faced legal issues, with an arrest for theft and possession of a controlled substance, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office in Florida.
The Carter family experienced tragedy around the same time the previous year when Aaron Carter, Bobbie’s brother, was found dead in his Lancaster, California home in November 2022. The musician’s death, attributed to drowning with the “effects of difluoroethane and alprazolam,” was ruled an accident by the coroner. Aaron was 34. Nick Carter, another brother, is a singer and part of the popular 1990s boyband Backstreet Boys.
The loss of Bobbie Jean Carter adds to the family’s sorrow, emphasizing the challenges and grief they have faced in recent times.
