Following a low-intensity blast near the Israeli embassy in Delhi, an FIR against unidentified individuals has been filed by the Delhi Police, officials confirmed on Saturday. The FIR, lodged on Friday night at Tughlak Road police station, invokes Section 3 of the Explosive Substances Act and Section 427 of the Indian Penal Code. The blast, occurring between the boundary walls of a house and the Central Hindi Training Institute, resulted in no injuries. An “abusive” letter addressed to the Israeli ambassador, suspected to be linked to an organization called Sir Allah Resistance, was found near the blast site.
The police, armed with crucial evidence indicating a conspiracy to threaten the Israeli envoy, are considering transferring the case to the Special Cell for a deeper investigation. CCTV footage around the blast site identified a suspect arriving in an autorickshaw from Jamia Nagar. Despite questioning multiple autorickshaw drivers, including the one who transported the suspect, the accused remains untraceable. Recovered items from the blast site, such as a broken watch dial and steel bearings, are under scrutiny, with the National Security Guard’s laboratory analyzing samples for further insights.
Statements from a dozen witnesses who heard the blast noise reveal that a vehicle broke down near the blast site. Investigations are ongoing, emphasizing the need for deeper scrutiny into the incident’s potential motives and those responsible.
