Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has announced a hike in taxi fares in and around locations in Dubai, The authority decided to hike the taxi fares where there are fireworks displays.
The RTA has increased taxi fares to Dh 20 from Dh 12.The new minimum rate will be in effect at key event locations, including areas such as the Burj Khalifa, Palm Jumeirah, Burj Al Arab, Hatta, Al Seef, Bluewaters, The Beach, and Global Village.

RTA said that the dynamic fares will increase by twofold and this will be applicable on Hala Taxi services during New Year’s Eve night, from 6pm on Sunday, December 31, 2023 until 6am on Monday, January 1, 2024, at the selected locations where fireworks display.
Taxi rates in Dubai depend on the taxi type, pick-up location, trip duration and distance travelled. The normal minimum taxi fare or flag down rate in Dubai is Dh12 with additional Dh1.97 per km.
