On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a roadshow upon his arrival in Ayodhya, inaugurating the redeveloped railway station and launching two Amrit Bharat and six Vande Bharat trains, some virtually. The prime minister engaged with the enthusiastic crowd along the roadshow’s route from the airport to the railway station, exchanging greetings and acknowledging the well-wishers. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in a post on social media, extended a warm welcome to PM Modi in Ayodhya.

Following the roadshow, Prime Minister Modi, accompanied by Chief Minister Adityanath and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, toured the newly revamped Ayodhya Dham Junction Railway Station. The station’s Phase I, completed at a cost exceeding Rs 240 crore, boasts a three-story building featuring amenities like lifts, escalators, food plazas, puja shops, cloakrooms, child care rooms, and waiting halls. The station is not only designed to be accessible to all but is also certified as a green station building by the Indian Green Building Council.

During the event, PM Modi flagged off two Amrit Bharat trains and six Vande Bharat Trains, expanding rail connectivity. Among them are the Darbhanga-Ayodhya-Anand Vihar Terminal Amrit Bharat Express, the Malda Town-Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminus (Bengaluru) Amrit Bharat Express, and various Vande Bharat Express routes. Additionally, the prime minister is set to participate in a public program, inaugurating and laying the foundation stones for development projects totaling over Rs 15,700 crore in Uttar Pradesh. These projects encompass Ayodhya’s development and its surrounding areas, along with initiatives across the state. This visit precedes the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, scheduled for January 22, which the prime minister is expected to attend.
