Simple custard pudding recipe for new year

Here’s a simple custard pudding recipe:

Ingredients:
– 2 cups whole milk
– 3 large eggs
– 1/2 cup granulated sugar
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– A pinch of salt
– Caramel sauce (for coating the mold)

Instructions:

1. Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Prepare Caramel Sauce:
– In a saucepan, melt sugar over medium heat until it turns into a golden brown caramel.
– Quickly pour the caramel into the bottom of your pudding mold, ensuring it coats the bottom evenly. Tilt the mold to spread the caramel.

3. Prepare Custard Mixture:
– In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
– Heat the milk in a saucepan until it’s warm but not boiling. Gradually pour the warm milk into the egg mixture while continuously whisking to avoid curdling.

4. Strain the Mixture:
– Strain the custard mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a separate bowl to ensure a smooth texture.

5. Fill the Mold:
– Pour the custard mixture into the caramel-coated mold.

6. Bake in a Water Bath:
– Place the filled mold in a larger baking dish. Fill the baking dish with hot water until it comes halfway up the sides of the mold. This water bath will help the custard cook evenly.

7. Bake:
– Carefully transfer the baking dish to the preheated oven. Bake for about 45-50 minutes or until the custard is set. You can check the doneness by inserting a toothpick; it should come out clean.

8. Chill:
– Allow the custard pudding to cool in the mold, then refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours or until thoroughly chilled.

9. Unmold:
– Once chilled, run a knife around the edges of the mold to loosen the pudding. Place a serving plate over the mold and invert it to release the pudding onto the plate.

10. Serve:
– Slice and serve the custard pudding. You can garnish it with fresh fruits or a sprinkle of powdered sugar if desired.

Enjoy your delicious homemade custard pudding!
