PM Modi to Inaugurate ?19,000 Crore Projects in TN

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to unveil the newly constructed terminal at Tiruchy International Airport, a project that incurred expenses amounting to Rs 1,100 crore. Additionally, he will initiate several development ventures valued at over Rs 19,850 crore in Tamil Nadu. The premier will participate in the 38th convocation ceremony of Bharathidasan University, where, in a recent announcement, it was communicated that press coverage would not be permitted, although the university’s vice-chancellor, M Selvam, clarified that this decision was not made by the university.

As part of the inauguration, Modi will dedicate Kamarajar Port’s general cargo berth-II and unveil significant petroleum and natural gas projects, collectively valued at more than Rs 9,000 crore. Notable among these is the 488-km-long natural gas pipeline by Indian Oil Corporation Ltd and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited’s 697-km-long Vijayawada-Dharmapuri multi-product petroleum pipeline. Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for a 323 km natural gas pipeline section from Krishnagiri to Coimbatore under Kochi-Koottanad-Bangalore-Mangalore gas pipeline II (KKBMPL II) by Gas Authority of India Ltd and POL pipelines for a proposed terminal in Vallur, Chennai.

Amid the heightened security for Modi’s visit, around 4,000 police personnel have been deployed in various locations near the airport and the university, with the city being fortified for the occasion. The Chief Minister, MK Stalin, will arrive by a special flight, and Modi is expected to meet with state committee members of the BJP during his visit.
