Bollywood star Deepika Padukone praises Bradley Cooper’s performance in Maestro

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has lauded Bradley Cooper’s performance in “Maestro,” a film he directed, wrote, and starred in. The movie is gaining recognition as a potential Oscar contender. Deepika, who typically refrains from discussing other films and actors on her social media, surprised many by posting an Instagram story praising Cooper’s work. She shared a scene from “Maestro,” calling it one of the “greatest” performances she has experienced in recent years.

In the clip shared by Deepika, Bradley Cooper’s character is shown conducting the London Symphony Orchestra. Cooper portrays the legendary music conductor Leonard Bernstein in the film. Deepika expressed her admiration, stating, “Aah this scene! Probably one of the greatest performances I’ve experienced in recent years.”

“Maestro” is Bradley Cooper’s follow-up to “A Star Is Born,” exploring the relationship between Leonard Bernstein and his wife Felicia Montealegre. Cooper, who co-wrote, directed, and starred opposite Carey Mulligan, provides insights into the composer’s public and private life in this biopic.

Bradley Cooper expressed concerns about filming a particular scene in the movie, mentioning during a Los Angeles screening, “That scene I was so worried about because we did it live… I was recorded live. I had to conduct them. And I spent six years learning how to conduct six minutes and 21 seconds of music. I was able to get the raw take where I just watched Leonard Bernstein [conduct] at Ely Cathedral… And so I had that to study.”

“Maestro,” currently streaming on Netflix, is anticipated to be a strong contender in the awards season, with expectations of acting nominations for both Bradley Cooper and Carey Mulligan. Mulligan plays an artist living in the shadow of a genius and a wife grappling with the compromises she has made to support him.
