A groundbreaking Elvis Presley show, titled “Elvis Evolution,” is set to open in central London later this year, featuring a life-size digital Elvis brought to life through artificial intelligence (AI). The show is designed to be the first in a series, with plans to extend to cities like Las Vegas, Tokyo, and Berlin. Developed by British company Layered Reality, the spectacle combines AI, holographic projections, augmented reality, live theatre, and multi-sensory effects to celebrate Elvis Presley’s life and legacy.
“Elvis Evolution” will present previously unseen performances, leveraging thousands of personal photos and home-video archives obtained through a deal with Authentic Brands Group, the owner of Elvis Presley’s estate. The show aims to engage audiences with an immersive experience that goes beyond traditional entertainment.
Layered Reality’s CEO, Andrew McGuinness, described the show as a “next-generation tribute” to the musical legend, acknowledging Elvis’s enduring global superstar status. He emphasized that modern audiences seek active participation in entertainment experiences rather than passive consumption.
Scheduled to open in November, the show will employ a combination of music, technology, and storytelling to narrate Elvis’s journey to fame and explore his cultural impact in the 1950s and 1960s. Marc Rosen, the head of entertainment at Authentic Brands Group, expressed excitement about providing fans with a novel and immersive way to experience Elvis Presley’s life and legacy.
Elvis Presley, one of the best-selling music artists of all time, passed away at the age of 42 in 1977 at his Graceland mansion in Memphis, Tennessee. “Elvis Evolution” follows the success of ABBA’s “ABBA Voyage” digital avatar show, which has sold over 1.5 million tickets and generated more than $150 million since its opening in May 2022.
