During his visit to Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 16 airport projects, including 12 new terminal buildings. These terminals are strategically located across various cities like Pune, Kolhapur, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Delhi, and Lucknow, among others. With a total investment of over Rs 9,800 crore, these projects aim to enhance air connectivity and infrastructure, marking a significant step forward.
PM Modi stressed the importance of viewing these developmental initiatives beyond mere electoral benefits. He reiterated his commitment to rapid development, aiming to propel India towards becoming a developed nation by 2047. The new terminals, boasting a combined annual passenger handling capacity of 620 lakh, incorporate advanced amenities and sustainable features while drawing inspiration from local heritage to reflect the culture and history of the regions they serve.
