Karnataka’s Transport Minister, Ramalinga Reddy, addressed concerns regarding recent bomb threats aimed at the Sri Ram Mandir in Nippani, emphasizing the crucial role of law enforcement agencies in managing such situations. Speaking at the inauguration of the KSRTC bus stand in the city, Minister Reddy assured reporters that the police, under the supervision of district superintendents and inspector generals, would take necessary action to address bomb threats.
Expressing apprehension over the increasing frequency of bomb threats, Minister Reddy disclosed that threats, including intimidating emails, have targeted not only the Sri Ram Mandir but also the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC). As a precautionary measure, he directed the managing director of KSRTC to conduct comprehensive checks on all luggage.
Minister Reddy advocated for heightened security measures at temples statewide in response to these incidents. He also assured the public of ongoing investigations into recent events, such as the Rameshwaram Cafe blast in Bengaluru. Additionally, Minister Reddy criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), questioning their demand for resignations and highlighting past bomb blasts that occurred during the BJP’s tenure, including incidents near the Chinnaswamy Stadium and serial blasts.
