Commodity Market: Gold price remains firm for third day in a row

Mumbai: Sovereign gold price remained unchanged for third day in a row in Kerala. Sovereign gold is priced at Rs 48,600 per 8 gram. This is lifetime-high price of gold in the state. On Saturday, yellow metal price gained by Rs 400 per 8 gram.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures were trading at Rs 65,995 per 10 gram and were down by Rs 40 or 0.06%. Silver futures were trading at Rs 74,525 per kg and were higher by Rs 11 or 0.01%.

In global markets, price of spot gold was flat at $2,182.48 per ounce, after rising for nine consecutive sessions. Gold price  hit a record peak of $2,194.99 on Friday.  U.S. gold futures were also flat at $2,188.70. Price of spot platinum rose 0.5% to $937.60 per ounce, palladium climbed 0.3% to $1,033.35 and silver advanced 0.3% to $24.49.
