During the night spanning March 11 to the morning of March 12, 2024, the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) conducted a successful joint operation, acting on intelligence inputs, leading to the apprehension of a Pakistani boat carrying narcotics valued at approximately Rs 480 crore. This operation, carried out about 350 km from Porbandar into the Arabian Sea, involved a coordinated effort between ICG ships and Dornier Aircraft, showcasing close collaboration between the ICG, NCB, and ATS Gujarat, as stated in an official press release.

Gujarat’s Minister of State for Home Affairs, Harsha Sanghvi, informed the media that the Gujarat ATS team, instrumental in the successful apprehension of the drug cartel, would receive a reward of Rs 10 lakh from the Gujarat Home Ministry. In response to specific intelligence received from agencies, the Indian Coast Guard strategically positioned its ships in the Arabian Sea on March 11. Additionally, the ICG deployed Dornier aircraft to scan and locate the suspicious boat in potential areas.

After extensive search efforts, ICG ships, accompanied by teams from NCB and ATS Gujarat, identified the vessel displaying suspicious behavior under the cover of darkness.
