This year’s Ram Navami holds special significance for believers worldwide and for Ayodhya, as it marks the first commemoration of Lord Ram’s birth in the newly inaugurated Ram Mandir. The Surya Tilak ritual, symbolizing the birth of Ram Lalla, is scheduled to take place in the sanctum sanctorum at noon. Reports indicate that the tilak’s dimensions are set at 58 mm, and the ceremony is expected to last around three to three-and-a-half minutes, with two minutes devoted to full illumination.
Ram Navami festivities will include various offerings to Lord Ram, with devotees presenting 56 types of Bhog Prasad, to be offered to the deity at noon on Wednesday. The trust overseeing the temple has extended the darshan period to 19 hours, beginning with the Mangala Aarti and concluding at 11:00 pm. During the four Bhog offerings, the curtain will only be drawn for five minutes. The celebrations will be broadcasted on approximately a hundred large LED screens positioned throughout Ayodhya, with live streams available on the trust’s social media platforms.
Due to the anticipated increase in devotees, the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirath Kshetra Trust issued an advisory. VIP darshan and aarti permits were canceled from April 16 to April 18 to facilitate entrance for all devotees, with distinguished visitors requested to visit after April 19. Devotees were urged not to bring valuables or cell phones to speed up darshan and avoid delays. Live coverage of the Ram Navami celebrations at Ram Mandir will be accessible on Doordarshan and the trust’s social media channels, with a call for the public to refrain from unnecessary trips to Ayodhya on the occasion.
