Campaigning concludes for initial phase of Lok Sabha elections

The intense campaigning for 102 Lok Sabha seats across 21 states and Union territories, scheduled for the first phase on April 19, came to an end with leaders from the BJP-led NDA and the opposition INDIA bloc making final efforts to sway voters. Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the charge with a series of rallies and roadshows, emphasizing his commitment to fulfilling promises made to the electorate.

Key leaders from both sides, including Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Congress leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, campaigned vigorously for their respective candidates. The BJP focused on issues like corruption and development, while the opposition highlighted concerns such as electoral bonds and unemployment.

Both parties released manifestos outlining their priorities. The BJP’s manifesto, titled “Modi ki Guarantee,” emphasized development and welfare schemes, while the Congress manifesto, titled “Nyay Patra,” focused on justice and included promises like legal guarantees for MSP and scrapping the Agnipath scheme.
