Karnataka experiences heavy rainfall on October 4; IMD forecasts two more days of rain

Karnataka experienced substantial rainfall on October 4, with various regions across the state recording impressive totals. The highest rainfall was observed in Mysuru, where Kiragasur received an impressive 122.5 mm. Following closely was Yashwantnagar in Bellary, reporting 121.5 mm. Other notable rainfall amounts included 117.5 mm in Davanagere’s Annabur, 113 mm in Chitradurga’s Neralagunte, and 112 mm in Tumkur’s Tadakalur. A detailed overview of the rainfall across several locations shows the widespread impact of the downpour.

The rainfall totals across Karnataka were significant, with various regions experiencing considerable precipitation. Key locations included Vijayanagar (110.5 mm), Kolar (96 mm), Raichur (87.5 mm), and Yadagiri (83.5 mm). Additionally, Chikkamagaluru recorded 78 mm, while Ramanagara received 77 mm. Other areas like Udupi, Kalaburagi, and Koppal also reported rainfall, contributing to a cooler and more refreshing atmosphere across the state.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that Bengaluru will continue to experience cloudy conditions with rain expected over the next two days. The recent heavy rains caused minor disruptions in the city, including the fall of a large tree branch in Pulakeshi Nagar. However, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) acted quickly to clear the obstruction, ensuring the safety of residents.
