Govt to organize grand ‘Shakti Mahotsav’ at 16 Shaktipeeths

The Yogi government is set to host a grand ‘Shakti Mahotsav’ at 16 Shaktipeeths across Uttar Pradesh during the auspicious days of Saptami and Ashtami. The festival will highlight women’s safety, dignity, and self-reliance, aligning with Mission Shakti 5.0. The event will feature female artists performing at key Shaktipeeths such as Maa Pateshwari Temple in Devipatan, Maa Vaishno Devi Temple in Firozabad, and Maa Vindhyavasini Shaktipeeth in Vindhyachal. State folk artists will also participate in various cultural and spiritual performances based on themes like Kumbh Mela, Navdurga, and women’s empowerment.

Prominent female performers, including Shefali Pandey, Shalini Sharma, Pooja Upadhyay, and Vandana Shukla, will showcase their talents at different Shaktipeeths, offering devotional hymns (bhajans) to honor the goddess. The festival will also include tableaux presentations centered around the nine goddesses, adding a visual element to the celebration. These presentations, along with traditional folk songs and dances, will enhance the spiritual atmosphere of the event.

The Shakti Mahotsav aims to promote the Yogi government’s focus on women’s empowerment, with street plays and cultural performances reinforcing the message of women’s safety and dignity. The Department of Culture, under the direction of CM Yogi Adityanath, has meticulously planned the festival to integrate these themes into the spiritual and cultural fabric of the event, making it a celebration of both devotion and empowerment.
