Ludhiana: Two people lost their lives and 15 people, including children were injured as a pandal collapsed during a Navratri ‘Jagran’ in Ludhiana. The incident took place amid celebrations.
As per reports, people living in the in Dwarka Enclave had organized a Devi Jagran in the ground behind the Sikh Gobind Godam Temple. Singer Pallavi Rawat was called to sing bhajans in the jagran.
The pandal collapsed due to strong winds and a storm. A sudden gust of wind caused the grill supporting the pandal to collapse.
The Temple Committee expressed their deep condolences to the victims’ families. As part of Navratri, devotees traditionally hold Jagran in decorated pandals, singing hymns in honour of the Goddess.
