Govt launches toll-free helpline for pilgrims

As Uttar Pradesh prepares for the massive Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s administration has introduced a toll-free helpline to assist train passengers. Managed by the Prayagraj Division Railway, this new service aims to provide millions of anticipated pilgrims with easy access to travel information, ensuring smooth and organized transportation. Set to launch on November 1, the helpline marks the first dedicated service of its kind for the Mahakumbh, offering devotees information on train schedules, arrivals, and various rail-related services.

The helpline is part of a broader initiative by the Prayagraj Railway Division, which is also rolling out a mobile app tailored specifically for Mahakumbh visitors. This app, along with the Indian Railways website, will serve as a comprehensive resource, offering pilgrims critical information about train routes, service schedules, and other essential travel details. With nearly 992 trains set to operate from nine stations during the event, these tools are designed to enhance accessibility and streamline travel for the large influx of devotees.

Railway Division PRO Amit Singh confirmed that the toll-free helpline (18004199139) will be available from November 1, providing assistance in Hindi, English, and various regional languages to cater to pilgrims nationwide. Additionally, information on special trains and other logistical details will be accessible on the Indian Railways website, ensuring devotees have comprehensive support throughout their journey. The upcoming Mahakumbh mobile app will further aid visitors by offering event information, train service updates, and guidance on navigating Prayagraj, underscoring the Yogi government’s commitment to making the pilgrimage a grand and seamless spiritual experience.
