The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a series of thunderstorms and heavy rainfall across Kerala over the coming days, with scattered thunderstorms expected from October 31 to November 3. This weather pattern signals possible disruptions and a need for caution in affected areas, as heavy rainfall is anticipated across multiple districts during this period.
In response, IMD has issued yellow alerts for specific districts likely to experience significant rain. On November 1, the alert applies to Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Palakkad, and Malappuram. The alert shifts on November 2 to include Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, and Palakkad, while on November 3, it extends to Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikode, and Wayanad.
The heavy rainfall expected in these districts is predicted to range from 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm over a 24-hour period, with intense downpours likely impacting daily activities and travel in the region. The IMD’s yellow alert serves as a precautionary notice, urging residents to stay informed and prepare for potentially severe weather conditions.
