On Tuesday, CM Yogi Adityanath and Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat reviewed development projects for the upcoming Prayagraj Maha Kumbh 2025, along with key religious sites Ayodhya Dham and Naimisharanya Dham. During the meeting with senior officials, they discussed project progress and emphasized the vision for a grand Maha Kumbh, symbolizing Indian cultural heritage. The Chief Minister highlighted that the scale of the Maha Kumbh will surpass previous festivals, with significant infrastructural plans like expanded ghats, improved sanitation, and robust facilities across 4,000 hectares to accommodate the vast influx of pilgrims.
Shekhawat praised the strategic approach in organizing Maha Kumbh, emphasizing sanitation, information accessibility, communication, and security. He recommended creating a tourist-friendly app with scanning features to guide visitors, including international tourists, around the fair and local areas. Additionally, he proposed using QR codes for easy access to the app at key transit points. Recognizing the opportunity to promote Uttar Pradesh tourism, Shekhawat suggested organizing trips to lesser-known sites and developing a plan to incorporate these into India’s Swadesh Darshan Yojana, aligning the event with broader tourism objectives.
The Chief Minister also highlighted development projects at Naimisharanya, including the establishment of a Veda Science Center to honor Vedic knowledge, and improvements at religious sites such as the Maa Lalita Devi Complex and Sitakund. To enhance accessibility, a heliport and new tourist accommodations are under construction, with some sites to be operated through a Public-Private Partnership. Both leaders reviewed Ayodhya’s Vision 2047 plan, expressing confidence in ongoing projects, and emphasized timely project completion to ensure the upcoming events’ success.
