NSA Ajit Doval and US counterpart discuss and welcome advancements in bilateral partnership

In a significant diplomatic exchange, Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval spoke with U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan about key regional security issues. The two leaders emphasized the need for continued efforts to enhance stability in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond. This conversation highlights the strengthening strategic partnership between India and the United States, which is rooted in shared democratic values and mutual interests, as noted in an official White House statement.

During their discussion, Doval and Sullivan welcomed the progress in their bilateral relationship, particularly regarding initiatives like the upcoming Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET) Intersessional and the Indian Ocean Dialogue. They also explored opportunities for increased collaboration in critical areas, including clean energy supply chains and defense cooperation, reflecting their commitment to deepening ties in response to global challenges.

The India-U.S. relationship has matured into a “global strategic partnership,” focusing on shared democratic principles and a convergence of interests across multiple sectors. This partnership encompasses diverse areas such as trade and investment, defense, education, cyber security, and health. Prime Minister Narendra Modi previously met with President Joe Biden, expressing appreciation for Biden’s contributions to enhancing the India-U.S. partnership, which is further supported by vibrant people-to-people interactions and bipartisan backing in both nations.
