ATS warns of Bangladeshi terrorists infiltrating Jharkhand for training

The Jharkhand Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) has issued an alert following intelligence inputs about Bangladeshi terrorists infiltrating the state to provide training to individuals in Pakur. According to ATS sources, Jamat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) terrorist Abdul Mammun crossed the border illegally and arrived in Pakur via Dhuliyan, Murshidabad, on January 6. During his visit, he reportedly trained 15 members of the group JAHA-India in terrorist activities before returning to Bangladesh the following day. This development is linked to a broader conspiracy by banned organizations in Bangladesh to target India, particularly after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government.

The ATS letter highlights that Mammun attended a meeting with JAHA-India members at the Islami Dawa Centre in Pakur, where he conducted the training. Intelligence reports indicate that individuals from Jalangi, Murshidabad, also participated in the meeting. The ATS has shared the names of all 15 individuals who received training and instructed law enforcement agencies across districts to enhance surveillance and gather intelligence to prevent any further threats. The letter urged officials to take necessary preventive measures to avert any potential terrorist activities.

Authorities have been put on high alert, particularly in regions like Sahibganj and Pakur, where the banned JMB has previously been active. Police sources suggest that underground workers and sympathizers of the terrorist organization have been identified. The ATS has directed senior officials, including SPs and DIGs, to closely monitor suspicious activities and take immediate action. The infiltration and subsequent training efforts are part of a broader anti-India conspiracy by extremist groups operating from Bangladesh.
