Jammu and Kashmir’s Lt Governor Manoj Sinha reaffirmed the Indian Army’s preparedness to handle any challenges along the Line of Control (LoC), stating that the army is giving a strong and appropriate response to enemy actions. His comments came in light of recent incidents, including an IED attack in Akhnoor, which resulted in the deaths of two army personnel, and cross-border firing incidents in the Rajouri and Poonch districts.
Sinha emphasized that there would be no break in the ongoing anti-terrorism operations, with clear instructions given to security agencies to eliminate terrorist activities and restore peace in the region. The focus remains on maintaining tranquility in Jammu and Kashmir, and both the army and other security agencies are working closely together to tackle the security challenges.
Despite the relatively rare ceasefire violations since the India-Pakistan ceasefire agreement in 2021, the Lt Governor underscored that retaliatory actions by the Indian Army had resulted in significant casualties on the Pakistani side. The continued operations and vigilance are essential to ensuring the security and stability of the region.
