The 5th edition of the Khelo India Winter Games, originally planned for February 22-25 in Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir, has been postponed due to a lack of sufficient snowfall. The Youth Services and Sports Department of J&K confirmed that the event will be rescheduled after a fresh assessment of snow conditions. A revised schedule will be announced once the weather improves.
This is the second consecutive year that the event has been delayed due to inadequate snowfall. Last year, the games were pushed to February after a dry January caused similar issues with snow conditions.
The first leg of the Khelo India Winter Games 2025 was successfully held in Ladakh from January 23-27, featuring ice sports like ice hockey and ice skating. However, the Gulmarg leg has now been postponed until snow conditions are favorable.
