
Tehran: A moderate intensity earthquake measuring 5.8 magnitude on the Richter Scale struck Western Iran. According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) in the UAE, The earthquake hit at a depth of 10km.
Earthquakes are frequent in Iran because the country is located in a seismically active region where the Arabian Plate collides with the Eurasian Plate.

Meanwhile, a 4.0 magnitude earthquake struck Delhi-NCR early Monday morning (Feb 17) at a depth of 5 km, as reported by the National Center for Seismology (NCS). The tremors, recorded at 5:36 AM, caused panic among residents, prompting many to rush outdoors. The NCS confirmed the epicenter was 9 km east of New Delhi. Following the tremors, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged citizens to remain calm and adhere to safety measures, cautioning against potential aftershocks. In a message on X, he reassured the public that authorities were closely monitoring the situation and advised people to stay alert and follow necessary precautions.
