The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has tasked the Indian Cyber Security Coordination Centre (I4C) with developing a cyber security module for all future examinations conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). This decision follows the deployment of cyber commandos and experts to ensure security during the JEE (Mains) 2025 Session I examination in January. Acting on inputs from I4C, these teams carried out inspections at various examination centers nationwide, monitoring for threats such as unauthorized access, data theft, and server breaches.
During the examination process, cyber commandos closely monitored public IPs used by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the delivery agency, to detect potential cyber threats. Their efforts were well received by NTA chief Pradeep Singh Kharola, who expressed his appreciation in a letter to I4C CEO Rajesh Kumar. Kharola highlighted the crucial role played by I4C officials and cyber commandos in securing the examination process and acknowledged their contributions in fostering trust and collaboration among stakeholders.
In his letter, Kharola also requested I4C’s continued support in upcoming examinations and sought guidance in developing a standardized cyber security module for NTA. He emphasized that such an initiative would enhance NTA’s workflow and contribute to more secure and efficient examination processes. The MHA’s directive to I4C reflects the growing importance of robust cyber security measures in high-stakes national examinations.
