After shocking allegation by Kapil Mishra that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Chief Arvind Kejriwal accepted Rs 2 crore in cash in a questionable transaction, the party is currently going through a tough phase.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his AAP have landed in deep trouble.
After facing defeat in the recently concluded MCD elections, fissures within the party have come to the limelight. Kapil Mishra, Sacked Minister for Water Resources, had alleged recently that he was an ‘eyewitness’ to Health and PWD Minister Satyendar Jain handing over Rs 2 crore to CM Kejriwal.
Mishra also claimed that Jain had told him in a private conversation that he had ‘settled’ a Rs 50 crore land deal in favour of a relative of the Chief Minister. The development gave a shot in the arm to BJP and Congress. They have started demanding for Kejriwal’s ouster.
AAP, however, stood solidly behind its leader, insisting there was no merit in the allegation and that even Kejriwal’s enemies won’t believe it. It will be interesting to see how Kejriwal and his party manage to handle this issue.
