The Olympic champion confirmed his split from wife of four years Faryal Makhdoom earlier this month. Amir Khan could stand to lose HALF his estimated £25million fortune in his divorce battle. Faryal, mother to the boxer’s daughter Lamaisah, later confirmed she is expecting the couple’s second child.
She appeared to confirm there is no way back for the pair after cropping him out of an Instagram picture and vowing to raise the baby alone .
Amir, 30, announced he was leaving his wife following a very public row over fellow boxer Anthony Joshua. Friends reportedly claim the Bolton-born sportsman had been trying to leave his 26-year-old partner for years, claiming they were “living in hell”. But they claim he stayed after Faryal threatened to “ruin” the Muslim athlete by exposing the extent of his partying and womanizing.
She declared last December that the pre-nup she had signed before their wedding had since been destroyed. But a divorce lawyer claims the New York-born model could do “very well” out of the split.
“His lawyers might argue that his cash is tied up in family businesses and investments but that will make no difference apart from to draw the process out. He will be told to break-up any firms and sell any investments to make sure he can pay the money into court.” Khan and Faryal tied the knot in May 2013 with a lavish ceremony in New York City in the company of a reported 1,000 guests.
