In an initiative to become more efficient, Sharjah motorists will be able to renew their driving licences only online or via the Ministry of Interior app. The rule will come into effect on the 1st of October.
Motorists can download the ministry’s app on iOS and Android platforms. Users will also be able to report stolen, missing or damaged driving licenses, and request for a replacement.
Colonel Ali bu Al Zoud, director of the Sharjah Police’s licensing department, said smart services save the time and efforts of customers. “Customers can avail of the highest quality of services when they are made smart,” he said.
After completing the transaction online, driving licenses are sent electronically to the mobile phone of the user, which is valid till the actual license is delivered to the applicant.
