Jamaat-ud-Dawa leader Hafiz Saeed to face possibility of being sent to the U.S since Pakistan’s government has withdrawn its request for extending the detention of Jamaat-ud-Dawa leader Hafiz Saeed, wanted by the United States. The country has placed the wanted criminal under house arrest.
Yahya Mujahid, a spokesman for JuD, said on October 14 that the government withdrew its application for a fifth detention extension for Saeed, but that he will remain under house arrest until the end of October under the current order.
The U.N. Security Council labelled the Jamaat-ud-Dawa leader a terrorist front group in 2008.
